This line of enquiry informed my BA Fine Art final exhibition (13 Degrees) and continues to this day, with new outcomes appearing intermittently. There are photographs here of that exhibition (with related journal entries), a permanent installation in Romania, and the most recent digital ink outcome available from the Print Space.
A three panel, six surface ‘booth’. The outer surface ‘clad’ with overlaid drawings on paper, tracing paper and OHP film, hung using A4 office binding combs, steel rods and eyelets. The inner surface with hung drawings and a kinetic outcome presented on a digital photo frame. This was the first installation of the circle, square and triangle components. I have all the components and it could be reinstalled.
Near the beginning of my colour alphabet, TEST MESSAGE followed HELLO WORLD as a go to phrase for testing a new coding system. Both phrases come from my time as a systems engineer, with the test message predating that by reaching back to my time as a teleprinter technician (in the 1970s). There is an index of 1 PIXEL ALPHABET outcomes. Click through to check them out and don’t forget to resize your browser to adjust the presentation.
